## Overview

### A 5.7" VGA panel with the backlight driver on board

This 5.7" TFT Display is a bare panel: a 5.7-inch TN panel at 640 x 480 in a 4:3 format, with its own driver circuitry, an LVDS interface and the LED backlight driver on the panel. It takes video directly from a host LVDS output, with no converter stage in between.

At 600 cd/m² (nits) it is rated Bright Indoor on our scale, on a 115.2 x 86.4 mm active area.

#### 4:3 VGA with the backlight driver included

The LED driver is part of the panel, so your board supplies a rail rather than a constant-current stage.

The panel is a TN type with a 12 o'clock viewing direction — contrast and grey scale are optimised for a reader positioned above the centre line, which is what fixes the mounting orientation.

### Straight onto your board

640 x 480 on a 115.2 x 86.4 mm active area gives a 0.18 mm pixel — about 141 pixels per inch. The panel takes that image over LVDS, direct from the display output on an SBC, a SoM or an FPGA.

- No conversion stage. LVDS arrives at the panel as it leaves the host, with no bridge or scaler board in the path.

- Driver circuitry on the panel. The host supplies the pixel data and the timing. The datasheet gives the interface timings and the panel's supply and control lines.

- Backlight driver on the panel. The LED driver is part of the panel; the rail comes from the host board.

- 4:3 at 640 x 480. A square-ish format that gives height for stacked readings, lists and forms.

### Supply over the life of your product

A panel chosen at board level stays in the design for as long as the product ships, which makes the supply arrangement part of the specification rather than a detail after it.
