## Description

The 5" Open Frame HDMI Display is a 5-inch IPS display module with 800 x 480 resolution and HDMI connectivity. It delivers 950 cd/m² (nits), rated Enhanced Brightness, across a wide -30 ~ +70 (℃) operating range. ## Overview

### A 5" open-frame display with a fine pixel pitch

The 5" Open Frame HDMI Display is a complete display module in an open frame: a 5-inch IPS panel driven to 950 cd/m², a 6H hard-coated PMMA front lens, the driver board with the LED backlight driver on it, and a chassis to build into an enclosure of your own.

Video arrives over a standard HDMI cable and the module runs from a single DC supply. There is no LVDS harness to specify, no driver board to match to the panel and no separate backlight supply to find room for.

#### 800 x 480 across 108 mm

800 x 480 on a 108 x 64.8 mm active area gives a pixel pitch of 0.135 mm — about 188 pixels per inch on square pixels, fine enough that individual pixels do not resolve at normal close-range viewing.

950 cd/m² is Enhanced Brightness class, roughly double a standard-brightness module, and the IPS panel keeps its colour and contrast well off-axis.

### Why a module instead of a bare panel

A bare 5" panel needs an LVDS or TTL harness, a matching driver board and a backlight driver before it shows anything. Each is a separate part number, a separate supplier and a separate qualification to redo when one goes end-of-life. This module arrives as one tested assembly in a chassis, ready to build in behind the housing you design around it.

- One video cable. Standard HDMI in — the output that industrial PCs, SBCs and media players already have.

- No separate backlight driver. The backlight driver sits on the board, and the panel cable is fitted at the factory.

- A hard-coated front. A 6H hard-coated PMMA lens is fitted over the panel as part of the module.

- One assembly to qualify. Your EMC, thermal and vibration testing is run against a single module instead of a stack of parts from different vendors.

Driver board mounted, front lens fitted, cables dressed, and every module functionally tested before shipment.

The board is part of the module part number, so board and panel revisions are controlled together and changes are notified under our ECN process.
