## Highlights

### 1100 cd/m² — high brightness

Roughly twice a standard 500 cd/m² panel, at the rated backlight current.

### -30 ~ +80 (℃) operating range

Wide temperature as the standard specification, with the same range in storage.

### TTL — parallel RGB

Direct from a host display controller — the panel carries its own driver circuitry.

### 2.9 mm panel body

Glass and backlight stack in a 105.5 x 67.2 mm outline.

### 800 x 480 IPS

A 95.04 x 53.856 mm active area, 16:9, on a panel that holds its colour and contrast off-axis.

### 3–5 year lifecycle support

One of over 500 standard models we hold, with changes notified under our PCN process.

## Overview

### A 4.3" IPS panel for board-level designs

The 4.3" TFT Display is a bare panel: a 4.3-inch IPS panel with its own driver circuitry, a parallel TTL interface and a 2.9 mm body. It takes video directly from a host display controller, with no converter stage in between.

It is specified for equipment that works away from a desk: 1100 cd/m² (nits) at the rated backlight current, and a -30 ~ +80 ℃ range in both operation and storage.

#### 1100 cd/m² on an IPS panel

1100 cd/m² puts this in the high-brightness class — roughly twice a standard 500 cd/m² panel, which is what carries a small screen in a workshop, an open cab or a bright outdoor position.

IPS holds colour and contrast well off-axis, so the image reads the same square on or from the side.

### Straight onto your board

800 x 480 on a 95.04 x 53.856 mm active area gives a pixel pitch of 0.1188 x 0.1122 mm. The panel takes that image over parallel TTL, direct from the display controller on an SBC, an MCU or a system-on-module.

- No conversion stage. Parallel RGB arrives at the panel as it leaves the display controller, with no bridge or scaler board in the path.

- Driver circuitry on the panel. The host supplies the pixel data and the timing — clock, sync and data enable — straight to the panel. The datasheet gives the interface timings and the panel's supply and control lines.

- 2.9 mm panel body. The glass and backlight stack is 2.9 mm, which is what makes a 4.3" screen practical in a handheld or behind a thin front panel.

- Wide temperature as standard. -30 ~ +80 ℃ is the standard specification on this panel.

### Supply over the life of your product

A panel chosen at board level stays in the design for as long as the product ships, which makes the supply arrangement part of the specification rather than a detail after it.

This panel is one of over 500 standard models we hold, with 3–5 year lifecycle support, and changes are notified under our ECN process rather than arriving in a delivery. For programmes that run longer than that, tell us the horizon and we will plan the supply with you from the start.

### Where it is used

At 4.3" and 2.9 mm, this panel suits equipment built around a small screen that still has to be readable in daylight.

| Application | What this panel brings to it |
| --- | --- |
| Handheld test and measurement | 1100 cd/m² stays readable outdoors, in a body thin enough for an instrument held in one hand |
| Portable and bedside medical devices | Stable IPS colour for read-outs and traces, driven from the device's own processor |
| Machine control panels with physical keys | A bright status and menu screen beside the existing keypad or encoder |
| Off-highway and vehicle instrument panels | -30 ℃ operation for equipment started cold, and brightness for an open or glazed cab |
| Access control, intercom and metering | A compact display for wall and door-side equipment that runs unattended outdoors |
| Marine and outdoor portable equipment | High brightness for a screen read in daylight, on a panel that holds its contrast off-axis |

Where the application needs the operator to work on the screen, a PCAP touch layer is one of the standard adaptations below.

### Customisation services

This panel can be adapted, or swapped for a closer fit from the range. We hold over 500 standard models from 3.5" to 21.5", and we adapt them — or design something new — around the enclosure and the environment you already have.

| Level | What we change | When it fits |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Adapt this panel | Backlight brightness and drive conditions, a cover lens or cover glass with printing and surface treatment, optical bonding, a PCAP touch layer tuned for gloves or a thicker front panel, FPC length and connector type | The 4.3" panel suits the design, and the front or the connection needs adjusting |
| Re-specify from our range | A different size, resolution, brightness or temperature range, or another panel interface — TTL, MCU, LVDS or MIPI-DSI. HDMI and USB-C are available as complete modules | A neighbouring size, resolution, brightness or interface suits the design better |
| Design to your requirement | A driver board built to your interface, custom mechanical, panel sourcing and long-term supply planning for your programme | The design calls for something outside the standard range, or has to stay in production for many years |

An early idea is enough to start from — we can look at a requirement at any stage of a design and come back with feasibility, cost and lead time.

Whatever we agree — brightness, temperature range, mechanical envelope, FPC and connector — is written down before anything is built, so the sample you approve is what later batches are made and inspected against.
